What is the Pre-Trial Conference for?

The Pre-Trial Conference is convened by the court for the judge to get updates on the progress of the civil lawsuit from the lawyers. Matters discussed during pre-trial conferences include how far apart parties are from reaching a settlement, whether parties have complied fully with discovery requirements, and whether further court documents need to be filed.

While you can try to represent yourself in a lawsuit, you might just find yourself stumped by the legal jargon used by the judge and the lawyer representing the person you are suing or who is suing you. If your lawsuit is managed badly, your lawsuit might be dismissed or a judgment might be obtained against you. It is best that you engage a lawyer to guide you through the litigation process.
